My Scraps & More Sketch #91

Hello everyone! This is Audrey and I am hijacking this post! :)

As you know, we post sketches on the 1st and 3rd Fridays.  We are going to be featuring a guest sketch artist on the 3rd Friday each month to give you some different perspectives on sketches and try to mix up styles and design a bit.  A few months ago, I asked Nadine (who has been on the sketch team for a while) to take over coordinating the sketch blog.  She is doing just an awesome job, so I thought it was only fitting she be our first featured designer!

Be sure to visit her at her blog: http://myscrapnstuff.blogspot.com/

And let's get to know her a bit better:

A little about me: My name is Nadine, I am a stay at home mom of an 8 yr. old (almost 9 yr. old) daughter and I also have a 19 yr. old son who is away at college right now in Washington. My husband, and our 2 kids, 2 dogs, 2 cats and I all moved to Texas from Nevada about 4 years ago. Before moving to Texas I owned my own business as a hairstylist and I was also a part owner to a local scrapbook store. I'm really not used to having so much time on my hands now that I am a stay at home mom and sometimes start to feel a little stir crazy. Scrapping really helps me keep my sanity...lol. I do really love having the extra time to spend with my family now and also having more time to play with all my scrappy stuff!

My scrapbooking background: I have been scrapbooking for about 17 years now with 12 x 12 layouts and cards being my favorite things to create. Every since I was a kid I always kept everything and either taped with scotch tape (bad idea) or glued it into some kind of a scrapbook. I made my 1st "real" scrapbook (with lots of stickers and matted everything) when my son was just a toddler because I wanted a way to document his first years of life. My hubby got me a Cricut for Christmas and shortly after that I started making cards and selling them in the hair salon that I owned. One of the manicurists that worked for me told a LSS about me and they called me asking if I would like to teach classes on how to make cards and on how to use the Cricut. I had never taught anything before and really didn't think I was good enough to do it but I went to the store and showed them my work and about a year later I was a part owner and taught about 90% of all the classes. Then a few years after that I discovered online scrapping and made the 1st design team I ever tried out for and then became the advertising and sponsor coordinator for the store and forum. I really just work better when I have too much to do!!

My sketch making process: I have always had a secret infatuation with computers... shhhh, don't tell my husband! lol During my earlier stages of scrapbooking I discovered sketches and I really loved using them to help get me started, even though my pages very seldom ever looked like the sketch when I was done. Then one day for no particular reason and since I have this thing for computers and this really cool Adobe Creative Suites Program I decided to try and make my own sketch. It was kinda fun! So I just started to make and use my own sketches. I make all my sketches with no particular picture or layout in mind, I just create.

My 5 favorite products/tools right now: Hmmm, anything messy! I cant live without Gesso, Modeling Paste, mists, paints and my ATG. A page just isn't complete to me without some kind of a mist or paint on it. :)

Okay, I have rambled on long enough! Here is my 1st sketch for My Scraps and More Sketches and our ever so talented design teams take on it!
